Irvine Indians celebrated 2012 Ugadi Celebrations on March 24th, 2012 at University Park community center in Irvine, CA.
2012 Irvine Indians Ugadi Event broke all the previous events in Irvine in terms of attendance, food quality and entertainment. The auditorium was full with standing crowds all thru' from 6:30 pm till midnight.
The program lineup was packed back to back and every participant got a due share on stage. There were total 40 local kids and adults participated for the 2012 Ugadi Celebrations.
2012 Ugadi Celebrations started in a traditional way of "Ugadi speech" by Venu. Group of volunteers kicked off the event with Pooja and welcome message. Rathna anchored the event flawlessly till the end. Entire program photographed by Balaji Kumar, It was unique to see many local families themselves choreographing songs with high quality dances. Local dances were interlaced with prime time events of excellent singing by Supraja Sethuraman and Phani Sharma.
Dance performance by kids for Bum Bum Bole song, Kannada song, Ahana Pellanta song, ladies dance for Pravarakyudu song, Boys in White dress with black glasses dance for Kolaveri Di were amazing
Dinner was prepared at home by volunteer families including Saritha, Rathna, Shoba, Sireesha, Anu, Radhika, Seetha, Rajeswari, Sangeetha. Few of delicious dishes are Tomato Dal, Gutti Vankaya, Veg Biriyani, Paneer curry, Sweet along with "Ugadi Pachadi". Irvine Indians got many accolades for the quality of food. Though brief, Celebrations ended with wonderful dances by all of the participants Mallik Bonthu, Rathna, Seetha, Poorna, Amar, Krishna, Sasi, Koti Reddy, Satish, Ravi, Rakesh, Sunil and Aravindha Kavipurapu
Irvine Indians 2012 Ugadi event organizing team Bayapa Reddy, Mallik Reddy, Narayana Rao, Ramakrishna, Rao Kalvakota, Seetha Kowluri, Buchi Reddy, whole heartedly thanks all the volunteers who helped in cafeteria, stage and at the front desk.
